Good oral hygiene is the basis of good outcomes for a largely preventable disease. There is a traffic light scoring system in the teeth4life App as a signpost for poor health and cancer risk.
I worked mainly in the NHS system and as a trainer for twenty years. While many of my colleagues have retired quietly, I retired to try and realise my vision of Promoting Public Prevention in Oral health. We never had computers when I started work, and the first practice software I used was Dental Systems Design which was excellent but bought out by a company and discarded. We need our professional website and App for general dentists, and we need to have a platform to improve all our well-being, but without the top-down corporate structure, but a bottom-up one that benefits and supports those getting their gloves wet.
As a series of blogs, my opinions and other contributors may be repeated. The App is not a medical device and cannot send specific notifications, and is, therefore, GDPR compliant.
It serves as a place to at least consider options when providing affordable healthcare needs of the majority rather than the cosmetic wants of the few. The profession needs to look after the general public and ourselves, and we must consider and promote other options.
Please download the teeth4life App, and provide feedback to help us deliver prevention through our
dentalhealthservice.
